Inge Lim, Research Physiotherapist

Inge is physiotherapist for the Amsterdam arm of the Rescue-project. She visits patients at home and treats them in the home situation. Besides doing physiotherapy, Inge is also involved in part of the research, gives lectures and is working on the development of material to teach physiotherapists in this special treatment.

Inge received her Masters degree in Human Movement Science in 1999 at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She specialized on Human Movement Science in the context of rehabilitation with a special focus on neurological disorders. For her thesis she investigated issues of brain plasticity and on the implantation of fetal grafts in the brain as a therapy for people with Parkinson's diseases. She also did a research affiliation at Boston University, Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Science, on cerebral palsy and gait related disorders. Right after her study in Human Movement Science, she started a study physiotherapy, with a combination of research and physiotherapy in mind and focused again on neurological disorders. During her study Inge worked as a coordinator at a department of physiotherapy in a nursing-home. Inge graduated in the summer of 2002 and joined the Rescue Amsterdam team in November 2002.
