Alice Nieuwboer has been invited to speak at the following conferences:

Parkinson's Disease in the Advanced Clinical Phase, Ancona, Italy on the 1st of December 2004. The topic will be: "Freezing of gait and effectiveness of teaching cueing strategies".

The International Symposium on Dopaminergic and Nondopaminergic Mechanisms in Parkinsons' Disease, Osaka, Japan on the 4th December 2004. The topic will be: "Freezing of gait: problem analysis and rehabilitation strategies".

Auction of Promises

The Parkinson's Disease Society of the UK are holding a fundraising Auction with the aim of raising £35,000 from the event - the cost of funding a Parkinson's Nurse Specialist for a year.

Make The future Brightening not Frightening - 7 - 9 October 2005 - The 6th Euroyapmeet conference for Younger People with Parkinson's and healthcare professionals

The EPDA in partnership with the Parkinson's Association of Ireland and PALS, are holding the 6th European Euroyapmeet conference in Dublin, Ireland. This event will focus on important facets of living with Parkinson's from a relatively young age and how to achieve and maintain a 'healthy way of life'. The conference will focus on providing important, practical information that will assist not only People with Parkinson's and their families, but also the healthcare professionals who provide healthcare management to them.

Workshops, led by experts, will provide helpful and practical advice on Nutrition/Strategies for 'Wearing Off'/Carers issues/Aromatherapy and Water Exercises. The results of the European Participation in Life Survey for younger people with Parkinson's (diagnosed before the age of 50) carried out in 21 countries will also be launched.

World Parkinson Congress

The World Parkinson Congress, which brings together physicians, scientists, allied health professionals, caregivers and people with Parkinson's disease, is being held between February 22-26, 2006, in Washington DC, USA.
